Charles Lindbergh Gravesite, Maui
The Kipahulu area of East Maui (south of Hana) is the final resting place of aviation great Charles Lindbergh. In 1927, the 25 year old air mail carrier flew 33 hours from New York to Paris to become the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In later life, a friend of Lindbergh's invited him to visit East Maui. Lindbergh fell in love with the area and spent the last 6 years of his life there. He died in 1974 and was buried in this beautiful cemetery.
