Gullfoss Waterfall
The "Golden Circle" is a tourist route that is within 100 km (62 miles) of the capital, Reykjavík, and takes in three attractions: Þingvellir National Park, Geysir and Gullfoss pictured here. Gullfoss or "golden falls" gets its name from the golden mist produced by the waterfall when illuminated by the sun. Gullfoss also lends its name to the "Golden Circle". This photograph was taken in June around midnight!
