Goðafoss Waterfall
1000 A.D. marked an important time in Icelandic history. Should Iceland maintain it's pagan beliefs or convert to Christianity? This was the decision the Law Speaker of the Icelandic parliament (the Althingi) had to make. After deliberating for 24 hours, the Law Speaker threw his pagan idols into a waterfall (Goðafoss) and chose a Christian future for Iceland.
