Dicken’s Lake
I was on a trip north of the Churchill River in Northern Saskatchewan when I came upon Dicken’s Lake. It was the year 2000 and I was using a film camera loaded with 100 speed slide film. I was excited as the scene before me was beautiful but I knew 100 speed film may not be able to capture a sharp image as it was a windy day. I took a few shots then had to wait a few weeks to get the slides back from the lab. I was disappointed when I looked at the slides as the images were not in sharp focus.
Fast forward to 2023 and the arrival of artificially intelligent image sharpening software. AI to the rescue! It’s a good thing too as a forest fire swept this area in 2015 reducing the trees to ash.
